John
Allaire Newsletter - December 2005
Hello
to everyone from the blustery capital of Canada! Here's the "Holiday
Edition" of the JA Newsletter. I sincerely hope everyone
is well and on your way to getting into the festive spirit! We're
trying this "web page format". For those of you who
can't see the pictures or are having trouble with this format,

here to get the newsletter in a browser.
Live Appearances
John Allaire will be appearing at the Rainbow
Bistro in beautiful downtown Ottawa, Ontario on Friday
December 9th as part of a Christmas show put on by Ottawa original
rockers The Bushpilots. John will be singing
two or three songs with the band, and rumour has it that they
will be songs paying tribute to The Clash (it's almost 3 years
since the untimely death of Joe Strummer, lead singer for the
Clash). There will be other special guests and a whole bunch of
holiday cheer!
Plans
for the upcoming Ottawa CD release party with a full compliment
of Campistas is still in the works. Dates and venues have been
shuffled around so many times that it's best just to say "stay
tuned".
John
has been continuing to play solo shows close (and not so close)
to the Ontario region. A solid tour schedule is still in the works
for Ontario and beyond, including shows in 2006 across North America
and perhaps a venture over to Europe/UK. Anyone who has traveled
Canadian highways in the winter will know why some dates may be
pushed off further into the spring....
New
Site, New Staff
This may be repetitive for some, but we were having difficulties
with our last newsletter. Some of you may have already seen the
new site
that's up and running. The old one was becoming less and less
functional as more information was added. This one seems to do
the trick a little better. There's also plenty of opportunity
to "Interact",
contribute to the blog, join a "street team" in your
town, etc. Check it out.
We'd
also like to welcome Trevor Zachary to the Flat
and Black Records/Spin fold. Trevor will be doing some booking
and promotional activities for John. He has a background in communications
and marketing and we are all looking forward to working together.
Trevor's contact information, for booking purposes, is here.
"Thank
You Waitress!" - Stories from the Retail Bins
John's latest release, Thank You Waitress!, has been
selling consistently well over in Europe/UK along with the brisk
sales here in Canada and the U.S. Just a reminder that Thank
You Waitress! would make a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS
GIFT! :-) Fastest shipping and best price (shipping is
$2.80 CAD anywhere in the world!) is through the johnallaire.com
e-store . If you haven't purchased one yet, whatcha waitin'
fer??? Christmas??? Many of the finer CD shops around (like the
Compact Music or CD Warehouse chains) are carrying the CD (or
you can bug them to order it). Using your PayPal account will
get it there the quickest. CDBaby.com
is also carrying it, for those in the US and around the world
who like to deal with them. And of course, Tower
Records in the US have it in their enormous e-store. We have
wearables too...
We
are having some difficulties with delivery times from Amazon.ca,
so while the CD remains available there, we're not recommending
their service at this time.
SAFE
AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL! We hope to see you soon!
