Even a Monday night. The Bluebird Cafe has an "open mic" night on Monday nights. I had contacted the host of the open mic beforehand and was offered an extended "featured artist" set at the Bluebird during the show. As you saw from the video that was tacked onto yesterday's clip, the line-ups for these events are huge. We had to wait in line with everyone else, in the 37 deg. C heat, which was fine because we got to meet some really cool people from all across the US. Note in the picture below, one of the other artists tuning his guitar outside. There was literally no room to tune inside, as it was so packed.
Then back to the hotel to get some sleep because tomorrow is going to be the longest single drive of the tour... 11 hours to Virginia Beach, VA. Plus, a gig at a bar called Abbey Road Pub, right down on the Atlantic Ocean! Intro | May 20 | May 21 | May 22 | May 23 | May 24 | May 25 | May 26 | |
